Wk 8 — Art Activity — Student Choice, Part 1

- I plan to do a Pinterest search for the LA aesthetic but rather than actually romanticizing the city, I want to show what movies and shows don’t. I want to show the LA that people like me have grown up with. When we talk about LA with people who aren’t from the area, they often have a romanticized version filled with glamour and celeb sightings everywhere which is really not the case.
- I want to do this because I hear a lot of celebrities and influencers say that LA is not all that because the people are fake and this and the other. There is a false assumption about LA which I’d like to bring to light.
- I will need a canvas, a camera, film, and paint to completely execute my idea. I will also need my car to explore different sights in LA and a mask for safety.
- The only concern I have is not completely fulfilling the idea I have in my head. I know I’m capable of doing the project it just might not come out the way I envisioned it.
