My favorite findings in my bedroom. (in no specific order)
My favorite pair of shoes. When I was younger, I had a pair of bright yellow Sk8-Hi Vans that I never took off. I did everything in them; they were my every day shoes. A few weeks ago, I ended up finding these while in search of a birthday present for myself so I got them.I never take them off.
I did this painting in 2018 after coming home from Target where I had seen a packet of heart shaped stickers. I came home and painted this. It is one of my favorite pieces I’ve painted not because I think it’s good but because it reminds me a lot of who I use to be and things I’ve had to overcome. Also, this painting is in the background of all my Zoom University meetings.
This is a relatively new painting. I made it just a few months ago and I think it really helped me find the style of art I like most. I don’t really know what its called but this is what I love to do/ doodle. This painting is also in the background of all my Zoom University meetings.
This is a painting I did under purple lights. This made it so I couldn't recognize the true color of the paint which was really fun and exciting. This painting isn’t perfect but it is the painting that certified this was the style of art I prefer to make.
My bestie westiez! You’ve seen them before in our week 1 zines and here they are again. I have a row of polaroids above my bed and this is the one I love the most. This was Friendsgiving 2019. There is never a dull moment with them.
This is something I am very passionate about. I care tremendously about social issues and justice. This is a shirt I bought a few weeks ago from a brand called HoneyTV and they donated all the proceeds to bail funds across the U.S for those arrested at protests.
Lastly, this is the most important thing in my room. I don’t know what I’d do if I ever lost it. This is a ring given to me by my grandma. She use to live here in the U.S, but a few years ago she moved back to Mexico with my grandpa after he retired. I know I’m lucky enough to be able to go visit her, but I haven’t gotten use to not seeing her every other week. My grandma is my favorite person I have ever known so this ring is so incredible valuable to me.
