Week 6 — Art Activity — Intermedia
- I chose to represent the feeling of chaos and uncertainty. As of lately Zoom University has made my brain a little scrambled and its hard to get my thoughts in order. A lot of times its hard to focus and feel calm due to the pressure that Zoom University has put on us. I’ll catch myself not being able to think straight because every task is floating around in my brain chaotically and it just really stresses me out.
- My medium choices are sculpture, painting, and drawing.
- I chose painting to create my art because it is what I’m more familiar with and I knew I could bring my idea to life. Also, painting is something I use as a coping mechanism. If I would’ve picked sculpture then it probably would’ve been glazed in a chaotic manner. Either way I think regardless of the medium I chose, the piece would have some sort of color variation either splattered or in a chaotic pattern.
5. I think my painting came out decent. The lines are not as clean as I’d like them to be but at the same time I feel like the painting itself is too clean to feel chaotic. I was going for what I see in my head when I feel overwhelmed so if I’m going off that I think I did well. I like the painting. I hope it comes across as what I want it to be. I chose vibrant colors to represent how loud it can get in my head and the lines are symbolic of how although everything is lined up it is still really hard to think straight and see everything clearly. The lines start off as a pattern in the middle and eventually the pattern fades and turns into something else which could represent how people can expereince burnout overtime.
